Ngoto is a name inspired by the traditional and cultural connotations of brewing. The name is a colloquial Shona term which was mostly used for traditionally brewed opaque beer in the rural and urban areas. This name grew in significance in the 70s-90s In Shona speaking communities in Zimbabwe.
